Vincent Kompany set for new City deal

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is set to be offered a new deal by the club – albeit on reduced wages.

The 32-year old is out of contract at The Etihad in the summer, but is close to agreeing a new one-year deal on revised terms that will see him extend his stay in Manchester into a 12th season.

That is despite his recent injury problems that have seen make only 14 appearances this season – the last time he started a game was the 2 – 1 home defeat of Liverpool in January.

However, despite this, reports The Daily Mail the Belgian international is highly valued by manager Pep Guardiola for his experience and ability to turn in impressive performances when he does make it on to the field.

During his time at the club, City have won three Premier League titles, an FA Cup, and the League Cup on three occasions.
