Wilfiried Zaha turns down new contract and asks to leave Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace and Ivory Coast winger Wilfried Zaha has rejected a new contract worth £125,000 a week, and hopes to leave the club because he wants to play Champions League football.

That has alerted, reports The Evening Standard the likes of Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund to his potential availability, with Everton also said to be monitoring the situation, although they are not in a position to offer him European football next season.

Palace are loathe to lose a player who has been instrumental, in the past two seasons, in maintaining their Premier League status, and with manager Roy Hodgson already warning fans they could be in for another relegation struggle next campaign, they will want to do everything they can to hang on to a player they value at £70 million.

Their hand is strengthened by the fact that Zaha is under contract at Selhurst Park for another four years but may have to accede to his wishes if he wants to force a move away from the club, and instead use the money generated by his sale to invest in other areas of the team.
