Wolves eye ambitious loan move for Columbian World Cup star

Newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers are hoping to secure an ambitious loan move for towering Columbian defender Yerry Mina, the towering defender whose last-minute equaliser for Columbia against England forced their World Cup knock-out match into extra time and eventually penalties.

23-year old Mina joined Barcelona in January of this year from Brazilian side Palmeiras,  but despite the £10 million fee that the Catalans paid for him, he has found first-team opportunities at the Nou Camp severely limited, and was restricted to just 5 appearances in La Liga last season.

Now Wolves want to take the defender on a season-long loan and, according to The Sun are hoping that super-agent Jorge Mendes, who acts as an advisor to manager Nuno Espirito Santos, can use his connections to secure the deal.

Everton and Spurs are also interested in the 6ft. 4in, defender who has 15 international caps for Columbia.
