Spurs Manager Mauricio Pocketing has confirmed an ongoing interest in Spanish winger Keita Balde.
The 23-year old is currently on loan at Inter Milan, from his parent club Monaco, who he joined In August 2017 from another Serie A side Lazio in a £22 million deal.
Balde came on a substitute in Inter’s Champion’s League tie against Tottenham on Tuesday, and played his part as his side came from a goal down to win 2 – 1 with two late strikes.
Speaking after the match Pocketing acknowledged that he had been tracking Balde’s career when the winger was coming up through the Barcelona youth system, and Pocketing was managing their city rivals Espanyol. The Argentine said “He has always been a player of interest for us, but then he chose Monaco. He remains an excellent attacker.”
Under the terms of his loan move from Monaco, Milan have the option to buy Keita, who has chosen to pay for his father’s country of origin, Senegal at international level, on a permanent deal at the end of the season.
