West Ham clinches signing of Ukrainian international

West Ham United have completed the signing of Ukrainian forward Andriy Yarmolenko, who has joined the club from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.

The 28-year old has signed a four-year deal with West Ham after completing the transfer said to be worth around £17. 5 million.

Yarmolenko spent the formative years of his career in his native Ukraine, and made over 200 appearances for Dynamo Kiev, before transferring to Dortmund last August. He played 28 times for the German club in all competitions last season scoring 6 times, but now his Bundesliga career has been brought to a premature end with his move to East London.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Yarmolenko said “Of course, I am very happy to sign for West Ham United. West Ham is a big club with good fans and I am happy to come to play in the Premier League.”

The experienced Ukrainian international, who has 77 full caps to his name and 33 goals, becomes West Ham’s sixth signing of the summer following Ryan Fredericks, Jack Wilshere, Lukasz Fabianski, Issa Diop and Sebastian Nebyla.
